As Deputy Minister of Culture, Giring Ganesha Reveals He Will Check WhatsApp More Often from Seskab Teddy Indra Than His Wife

Giring Ganesha, former vocalist of the band Nidji, has just been appointed as Deputy Minister of Culture. This new position brings various challenges that he admits are quite heavy. In carrying out his duties, Giring expressed that his position in the cabinet will not be easy and will require more hard work than usual. Giring shared his current busyness. "It's not easy, it will definitely require extraordinary hard work. Because once you are in the cabinet, there are no more days off," he stated at the Ministry of Education and Culture building, Senayan, on Tuesday (22/10/2024).

In a more relaxed atmosphere, Giring joked about his busyness which has now shifted focus to messages from the Cabinet Secretary (Seskab), Teddy Indra, compared to messages from his wife, Cynthia Riza. He revealed that he now pays more attention to notifications from Teddy.

"So I have to be on standby all the time, just like yesterday, you know how it is, Mas Teddy, if there's a WhatsApp from Mas Teddy, I always jump out of bed," said Giring, then laughed.

Giring continued joking that now he more often checks WhatsApp messages from the Cabinet Secretary than from his wife.

"So now I watch Mas Teddy's WhatsApp more often than my wife's, right?" he said, then laughed.

Even so, Giring does not forget the importance of spending time with family amidst his busy schedule. He stated that his strategic location allows him to still take time for his family, especially in between his work as the Deputy Minister of Culture.   "It could be 30 minutes, so I can later have lunch with the kids," he concluded.
