Tsania Marwa Chooses to Be Patient About Child Custody: I Am Waiting for Them to Want to Meet Me

"No, there’s nothing. I mean, reporting their father, right? There’s nothing. I’m at the stage of just waiting for when my child wants to meet me," Tsania stated when met in the Senayan area, Central Jakarta, Sunday (20/10/2024).

For Tsania, the psychological well-being of her children is a top priority. She does not want to impose custody rights solely for personal interests, considering that her two children, Syarif who is 11 years old and Sabira who is 9 years old, are beginning to grow up and can understand the situation at hand.   "I'm thinking about their psychology. I can't be selfish, and I think they are getting older. Syarif is 11 years old, Sabira is 9 years old. They are increasingly able to think critically, meaning they can see and assess the situation," explained Tsania.

According to Tsania, now is not the right time to take extreme actions such as forcibly taking over custody of the children. She realizes that her two children are old enough to understand the situation, so forcing such actions would only complicate matters.   "So I think this is not the right time to do extreme things like just taking them away, they also understand now," she added.

Although she does not live with her children, Tsania still has the opportunity to meet them, albeit with very limited time. The meetings only occur at school when her children are on break.   "So it’s not really up to me; my time is only at school and only during break time. So it’s very limited," she expressed.

This time limitation certainly makes it difficult for Tsania to build a stronger bond with her children. However, she chooses to be grateful for every opportunity still given to her.   "Is it enough? Not really. But I have to make do because I have no choice. I’d rather just be thankful, so I have the chance to meet at school. It’s okay, I’ll just go with it," she said with great patience.

Even though the time with the children is very limited, Tsania remains optimistic and continues to hope that their relationship will improve over time. She believes that by being patient and maintaining good communication, she and the children will become closer.

Tsania also emphasizes that her main focus right now is to maintain the psychological well-being of her children without adding to their burden with legal conflicts. For her, the happiness and peace of the children are far more important than custody disputes that could damage their relationships.

"What matters now is that the children feel comfortable and at peace. I believe time will bring them back to me," Tsania concluded.
