Ashanty's Noble Intention to Provide Assistance to Fire Victims in Central Jakarta

Kapanlagi.com - Not long ago, several houses caught fire in the Karet Tengsin area of Central Jakarta. Apparently, this incident touched the heart of artist Ashanty.

The wife of musician Anang Hermansyah visited the location of the fire on Friday (8/6/2021). Ashanty's arrival was to provide assistance to the fire victims.

"Imagine how many families are affected by one house. So, it's really crowded. Finally, 150 people were gathered at the location, at Al Ikhlas Mosque, but it's still being fixed. So, we came here to provide groceries and I brought 150 meals for them," said Ashanty in the Karet Tengsin area, Central Jakarta, on Friday (8/6/2021).

"Hopefully, this can help a little. Because they haven't received any assistance yet. They are currently dealing with their own houses to be replaced and rebuilt. It's quite heartbreaking because the place is quite close to ours. The condition is quite concerning," continued Ashanty.

1. Frequently Engage in Social Actions

The social actions undertaken by Ashanty are not the first time. However, she has been doing these activities for several years. In fact, recently Ashanty provided assistance to several isolation places. These are places where people are undergoing isolation due to being positive for Covid-19.

"We have been doing this for years. Sometimes we don't publish it. We have been doing it for years, going to healthcare workers and isolation places. Now we received news here, so we came here. So it's not just providing food, we also brought groceries, rice, and others," she said.

Through this assistance, Ashanty hopes to alleviate the burden of the fire victims in Central Jakarta area.

"Hopefully, we can lighten their burden. Because there are 150 people inside, including babies and young children. It's really heartbreaking to see. Hopefully, they will receive prompt assistance from the government," concluded Ashanty.

2. Join the Ikoy-Ikoyan Trend

In addition to social actions, there are many ways that Ashanty does to help others. One of them is by joining the viral ikoy-ikoyan trend on social media, popularized by Arief Muhammad to share happiness with his followers.

The trend, which was eventually followed by several artists and influencers due to followers' requests to play ikoy-ikoyan, reached Ashanty's ears. Suddenly, Ashanty's Instagram was flooded with direct messages (DMs) from her followers.

"I didn't know (at first), my DMs suddenly became full, so I shared Lumiere products (cakes). I'm happy that they joined," said Ashanty in Pondok Indah, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (3/7).

Personally, Ashanty also doesn't feel exploited by the existence of the ikoy-ikoyan trend. As long as the person's intention is to share and give sincerely, it doesn't need to be questioned.

"For me personally, if the intention and purpose are to share, then there's no problem whether it's ikoy or something else. Whether we think we're being taken advantage of or anything else, it all goes back to our sincerity. When we want to give, we just give," said Anang Hermansyah's wife.

"If we think it's difficult to do that, I never think about being taken advantage of or anything else. From a personal feeling, it should arise that those who are capable should help those who are not capable," she continued.
