Askara, Former Husband of Nindy Ayunda Sentenced to 1 Year in Prison

Kapanlagi.com - Defendant Askara Parasady Harsono is once again undergoing a trial with the reading of the prosecutor's demand by the Public Prosecutor (JPU) on Monday (11/5/2021) at the West Jakarta District Court.

During the trial, the JPU requested the Judge to sentence the former husband of singer Nindy Ayunda to 1 year in prison for being proven guilty of drug abuse and illegal possession of firearms.

"Imposing a punishment of one year imprisonment and a fine of IDR 10 million, substitutable with 3 months of imprisonment and deducted from the detention period," said the JPU during the trial.

According to the Public Prosecutor, all the charges against Aksara Parasady Harsono fulfill the elements, both for drug abuse and possession of firearms.

"Declares that the defendant Askara Parasady Harsono alias Aska has been proven legally and convincingly guilty of committing the criminal act of 'unlawfully possessing psychotropic substances'. As stated in the first charge, Article 62 of the Indonesian Law Number 5 of 1997 concerning psychotropic substances. And abusing narcotics of category I for oneself, as stated in the second charge, Article 127 paragraph 1 letter (a) of the Indonesian Law Number 35 of 2009 concerning narcotics," said the Public Prosecutor.

"And unlawfully possessing firearms, as stated in the third charge, Article 1 paragraph 1 of the Indonesian Emergency Law Number 12 of 1951," added the Public Prosecutor.

2. Charged with Illegal Possession of Firearms

In reading the indictment, all evidence was seized by the state and Askara must pay a case fee of Rp 2,000.

Askara was arrested on January 7, 2021. In addition to the drug case, Askara was also charged with illegal firearm possession under Article. From the arrest, evidence of 1.5 Happy Five pills and a 6.35 caliber Bareta firearm with 50 bullets were seized.
