Asked About the Merger of the Nutritious Food Program Budget and Education, Verrell Bramasta Said This

Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission X, Verrell Bramasta, provided his response regarding the merger of the Nutritious Food Program budget with the education budget in the 2025 State Budget Draft (RAPBN 2025). Verrell referred to this as a beneficial solution for all parties.

"In the 2025 State Budget for education, it increases by about 139.5 trillion compared to 2024. Meanwhile, the nutritious food budget is allocated 71 trillion out of 139.5. So there is still an increase of 68.5 trillion. Compared to last year, there is still an increase of 11.75%," explained Verrell.

This eldest child of Venna Melinda added that the main focus should be on how the budget is executed well, so that this program can run effectively.

“This is what the public should see. Because this is actually a win-win solution. We can address the stunting issue, and we can also improve the school dropout problem. The homework is how these matters can be executed well and targeted correctly,” said Verrell, emphasizing that supervision will be the main focus of Commission X of the Indonesian House of Representatives.

According to Verrell, this budget increase is not due to inflation, but rather because of the government's commitment to improving the education and nutrition sectors.

“If anyone says this increase is due to inflation, we can also look at the data. The annual inflation (YoY) in the education sector is only at 2.75%. This shows that the budget increase far exceeds the inflation rate,” he continued.

It also highlights the importance of utilizing the budget effectively for various programs such as PIP (Smart Indonesia Program), BOS Funds, and teacher certification, all of which must be managed carefully so that the benefits can be maximized.

Verrell hopes that this budget consolidation can bring significant benefits, both in terms of education and nutritional fulfillment for the Indonesian people, especially in efforts to reduce stunting rates.
