At that time, Asri Welas lied to her friends to be accepted. Unbeknownst to her, the conversation was overheard by her mother.

"Well, being a girl means you like being called by guys or whatever, you want to look good. At that time, I wasn't in a good place. I was making phone calls, my mom heard it too," said Asri in Obrolan Tiap Waktu, quoted from the Youtube channel TRANS7 OFFICIAL, on Wednesday (13/11/2024).

"I told my friend back then, 'my mom has a business.' Even though she only sells bed sheets, I made it sound like it was something huge. I didn't know my mom was behind me, she heard it," Asri Welas shared while shedding tears.

"I hung up the phone, then my mom was sad, 'Ri, don't you feel proud of your mother who has worked hard for you to go to school? Your mom may only sell bed sheets, but she can support you and your siblings. And according to your mom, just be yourself, no matter how your friends accept you, it's okay,'" she revealed.

Asri admitted that the action made her mother feel unrecognized and hurt. She regrets the lie and immediately apologized to her beloved mother.
