Aurel JKT48 Experienced Sexual Harassment, Sent Explicit Images by Anonymous Account

Kapanlagi.com - Idol group JKT48 has been continuously hit by problems throughout 2020. Most recently, Melody, the General Manager of JKT48 Theater, announced that JKT48 had to significantly reduce its members in order to survive in the COVID-19 pandemic era.

Prior to this issue, an unpleasant news emerged involving one of their members named Aurel. The girl, whose full name is Ni Made Ayu Vania Aurellia, claimed to have experienced sexual harassment by an irresponsible individual on her social media.

Melody confirmed this news. The case was then brought to the legal route to deter the perpetrator.

"There was an unpleasant incident experienced by Aurel, including chats and the sending of inappropriate images, but she (Aurel) was shocked and traumatized. Finally, she discussed it with the management, and the management supported her by reporting it to the authorities," said Melody when interviewed on TRANS TV, South Jakarta, Friday (13/11/2020).

Aurel's report has been made since November 7, 2020. Law enforcement is currently working to find the identity of the perpetrator. With support from many parties, Aurel is said to be much calmer.

"Because this is an anonymous account. But this can happen to anyone. JKT48 has 70 girl members and we must protect and guard them. We must also inform everyone that this can have an impact on the victims who are shocked and traumatized. Even though it's anonymous, we all respect each other," Melody concluded.

Aurel is a member of JKT48's 3rd Generation Team KIII. She has been part of the team since December 1, 2016. Not only is she a member of Team KIII, Aurel is also a member of the JKT48 Dance Project sub-unit.
