Taiwanese media, including TVBS, reported claims that Barbie Hsu's mother is said to have hired a lawyer to prevent her son-in-law, Koo Jun-yup, from inheriting her daughter's assets. This issue has sparked widespread discussion among fans and Asian entertainment media.

According to the report, Barbie Hsu is said to have entrusted all her earnings in the entertainment industry to her mother since the beginning of her career. She is also reported to have received an allowance until the end of her life, while her mother managed the mortgage payments and credit card bills.

Barbie herself reached the peak of popularity through the legendary drama METEOR GARDEN (2001) and maintained high-value advertising contracts in Taiwan and China, with annual earnings often exceeding NT$100 million.

In response to the rumors, her sister, Dee Hsu, finally spoke out through her agency. She firmly denied the news and stated that those spreading the issue had malicious intent.

"The people spreading this rumor have very evil and dirty intentions," said Dee Hsu. She also emphasized that Koo Jun-yup gave genuine love to Barbie and made her sister feel true happiness.

Barbie Hsu passed away on February 2 last year while traveling in Japan due to acute pneumonia. On the first anniversary of her passing, a memorial statue unveiling ceremony was held at Jinbaoshan Memorial Park, New Taipei City.
