Batak singer, Jack Marpaung passed away on Sunday, January 5, 2025. The father of singer Novita Dewi died at the age of 76. Currently, Jack Marpaung's body has been laid to rest at the funeral home located in Pondok Mitra Lestari, South Bekasi. Jack Marpaung's body was brought to the funeral home since 04:00 WIB.
Observation by Kapanlagi.com at the location shows that a tent has been set up at Jack Marpaung's residence, indicating a deep atmosphere of mourning. In addition, several flower arrangements fill the yard of the funeral home as a form of last respect.
Until now, mourners continue to come to pay their last respects to the legend. His wife, Anita Lusiana Silalahi, has been seen continuously by the side of the body and has wiped away tears several times.
However, one family member mentioned that Jack Marpaung's daughter, Novita Dewi, has not been seen at the funeral home. Novita is currently at Sandiego Hill, the burial place of her father. "Novita is at Sandiego Hill, looking at the grave," said a family representative.
According to Alex Marpaung, Jack Marpaung's son-in-law, the father-in-law had been suffering from stroke symptoms for the past two years. His condition worsened until he was declared critical a week before passing away.
"In the last two years, it initially showed symptoms of a stroke, and as time goes on, the condition continues to decline," Alex explained.
Jack Marpaung was born on April 14, 1948, and is known as one of the maestros of Batak music. Throughout his career, he has produced many legendary songs in the pop and Batak folk genres.
Jack Marpaung is also known as the father of Novita Dewi, the runner-up of the X Factor talent search event. Novita Dewi's achievements are a testament to how artistic talent is passed down in this family.
