Because of Bono U2, Ronal Surapradja Wants to Voice Pak Kate in the Animation Series 'Kukurockyou'

Kapanlagi.com - Artist Ronal Surapradja is involved in an animated series titled Kukurockyou. In this series, a member of the motorcycle group The Prediksi voices the character of Pak Kate. A chicken who is the oldest and has the bravest but actually cowardly attitude.

What made Ronal participate as a voice actor in the animated series Kukurockyou is that the people involved here already have a lot of experience, especially in the Indonesian film industry.

"I see the advantage of this animated film, but the script is written by those who have long been involved in scriptwriting. There is Mas Aris Nugraha who made bajaj bajuri when reading the script, the animation script treatment is like a film script that makes me not want to miss out," said Ronal in a virtual press conference on Friday (13/8/2021).

Not only that, Ronald's interest in getting involved in the Kukurockyou series is inspired by his idol, Bono, the vocalist of the band U2. It is known that Bono was involved in the animation Sing 2 which was released in 2016.

"What I like about being a part of this is that I idolize U2 vocalist Bono, and at the same time, he became the voice actor for Sing 2. Bono was the first to voice a rock lion, so I thought if my idol can be a voice actor, why can't I," said Ronal.

1. First Experience

For Ronal, being a voice actor in an animated film is a first experience after more than a decade of career in the entertainment world. He admitted that being a voice actor is one of the most enjoyable jobs.

"This is the first time and it's really fun. Finding the character at the beginning was difficult, the voice didn't match, but when I found the click, it was enjoyable," said Ronal.

Kukurockyou is an animated series created by the people of Malang through a collaboration between VIA-Lokanima, which airs on IndiKids Channel. It tells the story of a chicken named Jagur who aspires to be a rock singer.

In addition to Jagur, other chicken characters in the animated series Kuku Rock You include Siyap, Bu Kate, Pak Kate, and Heni. Several well-known Indonesian artists are trusted to voice the characters in Kuku Rock You. They are Candil (Jagur), Indra Bekti (Siyap), Tike Priatna (Bu Kate), Ronal Surapradja (Pak Kate), and Kintan (Heni).
