Becoming a Father in the Film 'CALL ME DAD', Ringgo Agus Rahman Feels 'Tremble' in the Prayer Scene

Actor Ringgo Agus Rahman once again showcases his acting skills in the latest film titled Call Me Dad. In this film, he is entrusted to portray the character Dedi, a father with a unique life journey.

This husband of Sabai Morscheck admits to thoroughly enjoying every process of deepening his character. For him, playing the role of a father feels so enjoyable because it is relevant to his current life.

"The fun part is, this is my second father character with Visinema because I am indeed a real father, and I have to portray a father character, I always enjoy it. It has been a journey like that. Not to mention meeting Boris for the first time, it turns out he is very Sundanese," said Ringgo at a press conference at XXI Epicentrum, South Jakarta, Wednesday (30/7/2025).

The character Dedi, played by him, works as a debt collector, a profession often looked down upon by society. However, Ringgo sees an interesting side to highlight from this profession, which is its humanitarian aspect. He feels that this story is very close to the reality we often see on social media.

"There are many stories about debts. We see them on social media. But they are just doing their job. From a humanitarian perspective, it's interesting to portray," he explained.

Being a father in real life allows Ringgo to feel a deep connection with his role as Dedi. The actor, born in Bandung, then shared one of the scenes that deeply touched him as a father. The moment occurred when he interacted with a child character named Pacil, which reminded him of his own children.

"The prayer part is also interesting. My child goes to an Islamic school, they have memorized the verses. I am limited. Suddenly one day, my child asked me which verse to memorize, and I said, 'Oh, is there such a verse?','" said Ringgo.

The scene that moved him the most was when Pacil was asked to lead the prayer. That moment made him feel a strong emotional vibration as a father in real life. According to him, a child's request is something he could never refuse.

"In the scene, Pacil was asked to say the prayer for food but ended up saying the prayer for sleep, it shook me as a father. As a father, I can’t refuse when my child asks," he said.

More than that, Ringgo feels that the presence of the character Pacil in Dedi's life brings about positive changes, just like the presence of children in his life. He believes that children bring positive energy that unknowingly improves many things. This experience has made him appreciate his role as a parent even more. "Unknowingly, the presence of Intan/Pacil makes life better just like my child in real life," he said.

Ringgo proudly shares one of the things he considers the highest achievement in his life as a father.

This simple thing is his commitment to always take his child to school on time. For him, it is a tangible proof of his dedication as a parent. "I believe the highest ability is to take my child to school. I have never been late taking my child to school," he concluded.
