Becoming Music Director in 'PETUALANGAN SHERINA 2', Sherina's Father Reveals She Didn't Shower

Kapanlagi.com - Not only playing the main character in the film PETUALANGAN SHERINA 2, this time Sherina Munaf has another task, which is to become a music director or music arranger. She was trusted to replace the role of the late composer Elfa Secioria who was the music arranger in the film PETUALANGAN SHERINA.

"This is still in the middle of working on it (deadline). So there are two components like om Elfa, there is a part where we work on the music that will be sung together in the film, and then there is also the background music. Now I'm in the part of working on the background music," said Sherina when met at the 23rd Anniversary Celebration of Petualangan Sherina at Plaza Senayan, Central Jakarta, Wednesday (14/6).

1. Panic and Nervous

Being entrusted as the music arranger in the film PETUALANGAN SHERINA 2, Sherina initially felt panicked and nervous. However, she also felt very happy and appreciated for her musical ability.

"First of all, when given the trust to do that, I was very panicked and nervous. I also feel very appreciated because 'wow, it means my ability is'," said Sherina.

2. A Special Project

This project is also very special for Sherina because she can continue the work of her late teacher Elfa Secioria, who was her mentor when she was a child.

"This project is also very special for me because it was worked on by the late uncle Elfa Secioria, my childhood mentor, and we used to go around the mall singing. His songs were very beautiful and how can I make something that if uncle Elfa were here, he would be proud. So how can we together create something new but also have the spirit of 23 years ago, it's a challenge and I think with the songs that are there, it's okay," she said.

Derby Romero, who was sitting next to Sherina, was also confident that her work on this project could be as successful as her first film. "When I first heard it, 'wow you're amazing' I was speechless because it was so good," said Derby Romero.

3. Not Even Showering

On that occasion, Triawan Munaf, who is Sherina's father, also revealed that his daughter did not even shower because she was so focused on working on the music for this film.

"I see all my friends working so hard, even four years of preparation because of the pandemic and all. I see Sherina working so hard that she doesn't even shower, so if you smell her, it's a bit sour," he said jokingly.

"Yesterday I accompanied her while I was working on the scoring (music), we had a little marathon. Actually, it's a bit of a culture shock to go out today. These past few days we've been excited to create music illustrations that can accompany the music that was made before," Sherina concluded.
