In his testimony, Doctor Tirta Mandira Hudhi admitted that he was asked for Rp 80 million by social media activist Adam Deni. Tirta gave the money to Adam because he was threatened.

Not only that, Tirta said he was once mentioned as a social climber by Adam Deni. Adam Deni spread this narrative on social media, even sharing a photo of Tirta not wearing a mask.

"Brother Adam Deni and the account The New Bikin Geregetan fried me, and said that I am a flatterer, a social climber doctor. Then at that time I was reprimanded by the organization, because I was considered to have caused a commotion so the organization asked me to meet with brother Adam Deni," said Dr. Tirta at the Central Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (9/2).

2. 80 Million Rupiah

After meeting Adam Deni in May 2020, Tirta was asked for money by Adam Deni amounting to 80 million Rupiah so that the case would not proceed. Even after that, Tirta claimed to be asked to sign an agreement letter with Adam Deni stating that the money given to Tirta was not referred to as extortion but as a form of cooperation.

"At that time he invited me to meet at a coffee shop in Bekasi. Then he brought his lawyer and asked for 80 million Rupiah, but it was negotiated down to 70 million Rupiah, transferred in full, the transaction can be checked at BCA Bank," he said.

"At that time, he asked me to sign the SPK (work agreement) and stated that it was not extortion, and I personally stated that it was a collaboration fee. I printed the SPK with my own handwriting," he continued.

Tirta also said that the money was requested by Adam Deni as compensation for helping Tirta educate about Covid-19 hoaxes. According to Adam, it was for transportation expenses.

"And after attacking Jerinx, he also asked for transportation money to help me with the Covid hoax. He asked for Rp 1 million to Rp 1.5 million for each transportation request. Why did I transfer the money? Because he promised to help me educate UMKM (Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises) and eradicate Covid-19 hoaxes, especially the egg accounts, in November 2020," he concluded.
