Being a Witness to the Wedding, Atta Halilintar Apologizes to President Jokowi for Not Being Able to Hold Back Tears

There is a special reason why Atta Halilintar chose a president as the witness for his marriage to Aurel Hermansyah. Apparently, he wants to prove the seriousness of this marriage to many people.

"I really want this happy moment to be witnessed by great figures in the country. Here, I want to show that we are really serious in facing this marriage," said Atta after the wedding ceremony at Raffles Hotel, Kuningan, South Jakarta.

During the ijab kabul procession, Atta Halilintar seemed unable to hold back his tears. Because of this, the 26-year-old man apologized to President Jokowi.

"I don't know, since the beginning of entering the (wedding) room, I've been very emotional. Everything feels like missing my parents, missing my siblings, wanting them to be by my side on the day I become a husband. So I couldn't speak, my heart was pounding, my legs were trembling. When Mr. Jokowi saw me sobbing continuously, I felt uncomfortable and said, 'Excuse me, Sir'. I couldn't hold it anymore," said the owner of the birth name Muhammad Attamimi Halilintar.

Atta Halilintar also expressed his gratitude to President Joko Widodo, Defense Minister Prabowo Subianto, and Speaker of the House Bambang Soesatyo for attending the most important moment in his and Aurel Hermansyah's life.

"I am very happy with the number of people who support both of us, who support and pray for us. Hopefully, this wedding event will comply with health protocols. The main thing is how we obey all of that," said Atta.
