Being the producer of the film 'GURU GURU GOKIL', Dian Sastro admits still accepting jobs as an actor

Kapanlagi.com - Expanding her wings in the film industry, Dian Sastrowardoyo has just become a producer for the first time. Yup, she is involved in the behind-the-scenes process of the film GURU GURU GOKIL.

The popular Indonesian actress herself has shared why she chose to highlight the profession of teachers in the big screen.

"Because, first of all, everyone has been taught by teachers, everyone has had experiences with teachers. They must also have favorite teachers or teachers they don't like, but what we want to highlight is that, we only know teachers in the classroom, but outside the classroom, teachers have their own unique activities," said Dian during the Press Conference of the official trailer of the film 'GURU GURU GOKIL' at XXI Plaza Senayan, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (21/1).

1. Having Unique Characters

Furthermore, Dian admitted that she wants to show another side of teachers. Describing how each teacher has unique characters and interests outside of teaching.

"There are those who have other activities, who have other hobbies, that's what we actually want to highlight. Teachers, in their roughness, are only seen in front of the class, but actually there is a unique backstage to them, in terms of their characters and others," she explained.

2. Want to Give Appreciation

Dian then explained that GURU GURU GOKIL also aims to appreciate teachers out there.

"Certainly, teachers have unique characters that are rarely discussed in movies. But the reason we discuss teachers is because we actually want to appreciate them. Whether they are permanent teachers, honorary teachers, etc., all teachers are called that because it is an example of dedication that is very tiring and hard work," she said.

"We just want to make a film that wants to show that being a teacher is definitely full of dedication and we thank them for their hard work," Dian continued.

3. Still Accepting Offers to Become an Actor

Although she has started to work behind the scenes, Dian herself admits that she still accepts job offers to become an actor.

"As an actor, I still accept orders. Outside of being a producer, I still act in films that I am not producing. I still tell my friends, 'Hey, if you want to call me, you can, because I'm still available,' so as long as the film is suitable, I still help. I still want to continue growing as an actor," said Dian.

"Ideally, being a producer would allow me to develop my career as an actor. But it turns out it is difficult to do both at the same time. Let's take it slow," she concluded.
