Pablo Benua and Rey Utami Ready to Meet Fairuz A. Rafiq in the Trial

Kapanlagi.com - The three defendants in the defamation or salted fish case, Galih Ginanjar, Rey Utami, and Pablo Benua, are facing another trial at the South Jakarta District Court on Monday (20/1). This session is scheduled for an interim decision by the panel of judges.

In the decision, Judge Djoko Indiarto rejected the exceptions of the three defendants who requested a change in the trial location to PN Cibinong because the incident took place in Cibinong and most of the witnesses also live in the Bogor and Cibinong areas. Because the exceptions were rejected, the trial will continue to be held at the South Jakarta District Court.

“Declares, judges declare objections or exceptions from the legal counsel of the defendants. Declares that the South Jakarta District Court has the authority to examine and adjudicate this case,” said Djoko Indiarto.

In addition, the panel of judges also requested the public prosecutor to continue the examination of the case of the three defendants by summoning witnesses in the next trial on Monday, January 27, 2020.

Responding to today's judge's decision, Pablo Benua and Rey Utami accept it gracefully. "Whatever decision is best for us. We are grateful for the outcome of this decision. This is also Allah's decree. We are not disappointed. If we are disappointed, it means we are disappointed with Allah's decision," said Pablo Benua, who was met after the trial.

"Alhamdulillah (Praise be to Allah), we are grateful for everything that happens," added Rey Utami.

2. Ready to Meet Fairuz A.Rafiq

Since the next trial will involve witnesses, Rey Utami and Pablo Benua are ready to meet Fairuz A. Rafiq if he is called as a witness.

"Oh yes, that will be asked to the Public Prosecutor in the next Monday's trial," said Rihat Hutabarat, the legal representative of Rey Utami and Pablo Benua.

"Yes, we are also visiting and getting acquainted because we have never met the complainant before," concluded Pablo Benua.
