When met in the Ampera area, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (20/8), Bernadya stated that there is a special reason for wearing black outfits. For Bernadya, wearing that color started from the concept of the song Kata Mereka Ini Berlebihan.
"So, it all started from a concept. I began this when the song Kata Mereka Ini Berlebihan was released," Bernadya revealed.
"In that song, there is a lyric that says 'my black dress has never been touched again since that day, you said dark colors are boring'. So, the concept is more or less the artwork," she added.

In addition, the singer from Surabaya, East Java also mentioned that the black clothing is a form of rebellion.
"I tied my hair and wore black clothes that I actually wrote about in the lyrics, at that time I wrote it for someone who didn’t allow it. He didn’t like me wearing all of that," she said.
"But, it was a form of rebellion. Like I was rebelling as a form of resistance," she continued.

Nevertheless, Bernadya emphasized that she has made peace with her past through that clothing. This is reflected in every lyric contained in her works.
"Like, oh this time, in this song, it means I wrote this song when I had made peace with everything and I’m not following what others say," she remarked.
