Bimbim Says Slank Feels Lucky to Be Free from Drugs, a Moment That is Most Remembered During 41 Years of Work

Bimbim Slank mentioned that one of the most memorable things in the 41-year journey of Slank is their success in breaking free from the grip of drugs. He said not everyone can get out of this problem like Slank did.

"Until today, being free from drugs is something that one in a million people, not everyone succeeds like Slank," said Bimbim at Potlot, South Jakarta, Thursday (26/12/2024).

"Many have been caught by the police, many have died, many have overdosed, their behavior has changed. So Slank is just lucky," he said.

According to Bimbim, the solidarity among Slank members has lasted until now because of the justice that is applied. "Like the fifth principle of Pancasila, social justice for all Slank members. So forgetting to share equally, that’s what makes us fair," he said.

"For example, today's practice quota is 3 hours, but the actual practice is only 45 minutes, the remaining 2 hours and 15 minutes are spent chatting about family, girls, and the country. If we start talking dirty, it means we have to stop," he added.

Bimbim emphasized the importance of continually creating to remain relevant in the music world. He also mentioned that the current formation of Slank has lasted almost 27 years due to fairness and commitment.

"As long as we keep creating, whether it's good or bad, whether it sells or not, just put it out there. People will keep looking at us, and that's what we have to do. Be fair in earnings, don't stop creating. Because what artists present is their work," he concluded.
