Blak-Blakan! Jefri Nichol Admits Being Trapped in the Friendzone with a Classmate, Ends Up Being Taken by a Friend

Kapanlagi.com - Jefri Nichol stars in a romance drama titled SEPERTI HUJAN YANG JATUH KE BUMI. In the film adaptation of the bestselling novel of the same name by Boy Candra, Nichol plays the character Kevin who harbors feelings for his friend.

Upon investigation, Nichol admits that he has been a victim of the friendzone like the character Kevin in the film. He felt that way for years towards a friend from his school days.

"Speaking about friendzone, honestly I've been in that position. I liked a classmate from elementary school, junior high school, and high school, and we still meet. I don't know why, but I introduced this girl to my male friend, and in the end, they became a couple," Nichol said during a virtual conference on Tuesday (6/10/2020).

1. Preserving Friendship

Furthermore, this 21-year-old actor said that he had expressed his liking indirectly, but with the consequence of sacrificing their friendship. However, because of half-hearted efforts, the feeling was not conveyed.

"I have risked that friendship indirectly. It was still subtly expressed, but I was already very nervous because I couldn't just be half-hearted enemies. That's why I failed, and my friend ended up dating," revealed this Jakarta-born guy.

2. Having to Relive Memories

Kevin's role in the movie LIKE RAIN FALLING TO EARTH made Jefri Nichol have to recall the memories of being in the friendzone to portray the character. Although it felt suffocating, he was grateful to be able to portray it well and hoped that the feeling would reach the audience.

"It's difficult to play with emotions because I have to recall the feelings of my male friend dating a girl. It's exactly like (the story) in this film with my personal experience. But it was very helpful," Nichol concluded.

The movie LIKE RAIN FALLING TO EARTH also stars Aurora Ribero, Axel Matthew Thomas, Nadya Arina, and Rebecca Klopper. This film will be available on Netflix starting October 15th.
