Kapanlagi.com - There is something different in the promotion material of Indonesian Idol Special Season which will air starting next Monday (16/11/2020). It is stated that actor and presenter Boy William will become the host of the show.
This fact raises questions about why Daniel Mananta is no longer involved. When asked about this, RCTI explained that this event is still in the same year, so there are adjustments to prevent boredom among the audience.
"In terms of the overall concept, the previous season (tenth season) just ended in March. Now we start in November, practically there are many things we need to adjust in terms of preparation. This is the first time we are holding Indonesian Idol in the same period and the event is happening live," explained Dini Putri, Director of Programming and Production at RCTI in a press conference on Thursday (12/11/2020).

RCTI denied that Boy William is replacing Daniel Mananta. Because Daniel's schedule is not suitable for this season, Boy was chosen to fill the vacancy.
"We are not replacing, it's not intentional. Because we are back to back from the previous season, naturally there are things that cannot be fulfilled, there are commitments that cannot be met and both parties (Daniel and RCTI) agreed," explained Fabian Dharmawan, Production Operation Coordinator of RCTI in the same occasion.
The selection of Boy William was agreed upon for several reasons. Besides being very close to the young audience, he has also been a host in another talent search event held by RCTI, which is Rising Star.
"People naturally like someone who has made them comfortable, but whatever we bring, there will always be pros and cons of the chosen person. We want a refreshment, for us Boy is not a new person, he has been a host in Rising Star, he brings a refreshment for this special season," concluded Dini.
