Brother Becomes Witness in the Case of Vadel Badjideh vs Nikita Mirzani, Tense Atmosphere

Full support was shown by siblings Martin and Bintang Badjideh for their younger brother, Vadel Badjideh. Both were present in person to witness the continuation of the alleged sexual misconduct case reported by Nikita Mirzani, which was held at the South Jakarta District Court on Wednesday (6/8/2025).

This was the first experience for both of them being in the courtroom, a moment they acknowledged felt quite different and tense. Bintang Badjideh, as Martin's younger brother, did not deny feeling nervous when he had to testify in front of the panel of judges.

"Witness from the family side and allowed, thank God. And it’s our first time attending the trial and yes, it was tense, thank God we managed to get through it," said Bintang when met after the trial.

Their presence at the trial was solely based on a sincere desire to provide moral support. Bintang explained that what he conveyed inside was purely to strengthen Vadel as his own brother."Just supporting Vadel as his own brother, yes, whatever he feels there, whatever he encounters there, he explains it," said Bintang.

Although he could not disclose details about the closed trial proceedings, Martin provided a little insight. Martin emphasized that his testimony focused on the things he knew and experienced with Vadel within the family context."Well, the most we know, what we see, what we go through together, yes, that’s what we provided in the trial," said Martin.

The atmosphere in the courtroom was described as very emotional, far from the warmth of family gatherings that they usually feel. Bintang recounted a touching moment when he and Martin took the time to hug Vadel before leaving the courtroom."Yes, there was a hug in there, the atmosphere was indeed tense, and before we left, we managed to hug Vadel as well," said Bintang.

That brief hug turned out to hold deep meaning, especially for Martin as the eldest brother. The moment reminded him of the memories when they could gather casually without burdens, something that now feels so precious."Because we remember that we gather but not in that way. The previous times we felt relaxed, we chatted, created content together, had coffee. But at that moment, it felt like we were reminded of that moment. It was warm," said Martin.

The case that befell Vadel is certainly a heavy trial for the family, especially for their parents. Bintang expressed that the psychological condition of his father and mother experiences ups and downs, making support from their children very important."Mom and Dad, up and down, that's what is needed, mutual support. It seems that with Mom we pray, give advice, we calm Mom down," explained Bintang.

For them, family is the frontline and the most comfortable place to return to in facing any situation. Bintang emphasized that as siblings, the best thing to do is not to add to the sadness and to continue providing unwavering support.

"We can't help, but at least we don't make our siblings sad. No matter what, family is the most comfortable place, never tiring," he concluded.
