**Building an Excellent Generation Through Garuda School: A World-Class Education Initiative**

Kapanlagi.com - Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya recently announced the launch of Garuda School, a new educational initiative focused on achieving global education standards for Indonesia's youth. In a limited meeting held in Hambalang, West Java, Teddy mentioned that Garuda School will implement a highly competitive selection system, emphasizing academic achievement records and competency tests. All students who are successfully accepted are guaranteed to receive full scholarships, without discrimination against their social and economic backgrounds.

Garuda School is expected to become a boarding education center that implements a national curriculum expanded with international standards. This program is designed to filter and develop the extraordinary potential of youth across Indonesia to continue their education at leading universities worldwide. This aligns with President Prabowo Subianto's vision to enhance Indonesia's independence through internationally-standard education.

In the meeting, President Prabowo emphasized the importance of quality global education as the key to building national independence in various sectors, including industry, defense, energy, and technology. According to him, achievements in these sectors are only possible if supported by superior and highly competent human resources, trained through a good education system.

Stella Christie, Deputy Minister of Higher Education, Science, and Technology, added that the management of Garuda Excellent High School will be under the Ministry of Higher Education, Science, and Technology (Kemdiktisaintek). This boarding school will be a pre-university program that prepares students not only for higher education in Indonesia but also abroad. The development of this high school involves collaboration with universities and local governments to achieve optimal results.

On the other hand, the Garuda Superior High School will also have a positive impact on the local economy. Stella stated that this school will integrate its curriculum with the local community, in line with the goal of creating wise and globally-minded leaders who are sensitive to local diversity. In this way, student activities will contribute to the needs of the local community, wherever this boarding school is built.

The government has ambitious targets to build and nurture 40 Garuda Superior High Schools spread across various regions of Indonesia by 2029. There are two main schemes in the development of this school: nurturing existing schools that are not yet globally optimal and establishing new schools that can be accessed by high-achieving students from all over Indonesia. This program is part of President Prabowo's vision to improve the quality of Indonesian human resources, especially in the fields of science and technology.
