Chiki Fawzi Dares to Sail to Palestine, Ikang Fawzi Was Initially Surprised

The decision of Chiki Fawzi to head to Palestine by sea certainly drew significant attention from her family. As a child, Chiki admitted it was not easy to explain to her father, Ikang Fawzi, about her quite dangerous mission. Her father showed a surprised reaction when he first heard about his daughter's daring plan.

Although initially shocked, Chiki explained that her father is someone who greatly values humanitarian efforts. Through intense communication, Chiki gradually convinced her parents that what she is doing is a moral obligation.

"Yes, the effort is indeed slow, but Dad really understands this struggle here. I was really surprised, Mas. Yes, shocked, talking about various things between father and child," said Chiki Fawzi when met in the Kemang area on Wednesday (4/3/2026).

The tensions in the Middle East, which are currently heating up, certainly add to the family's worries. However, Chiki is grateful because he finally received strong blessings and moral support from Ikang Fawzi to continue his good intentions.

"Dad supports me. Yes, there is definitely worry, as parents, it’s human. The message is to take care of yourself, keep your faith," said Chiki Fawzi.

Unlike Chiki, who will be departing, his older sister, Bella Fawzi, is confirmed not to join this voyage.

"It's just me, someone has to take care of Dad," said Chiki. She expressed that there needs to be a family member who stays at home to accompany her father while she carries out her mission abroad.

The planned sailing mission starting this April is expected to take quite a long time. Chiki has also prepared mentally and physically to stay in the area to help the local community.

"The actual plan is that we are targeting two months. From the start of the sailing, yes, the last meeting was like that. But we will see later what the conditions will be like because actually now the only ones who can enter Gaza through land routes are medical personnel," she explained.
