The news of the removal of the live feature on the TikTok platform some time ago has had an extraordinary impact on many parties, including the artist and singer Chikita Meidy.

Chikita, who is now seriously pursuing the world of live streaming, admits that her business, which was at its peak, has plummeted. In fact, she had just returned from China to attend special training to improve the quality of her broadcasts and had successfully built a loyal market.

"The impact was that yesterday I had the opportunity to train in China to do a live broadcast with an agency in China. So the team chose several creators to be sent there, including me. That's why I was live in China yesterday. Sales had already formed, selling 200 pairs of shoes a day, but coincidentally during the TikTok live, it went offline, which affected me and the brand," said Chikita when met in the Tendean area, South Jakarta, recently.

She feels very sorry for the brand that has partnered with her, especially because the broadcast schedule during peak moments like payday had to be postponed. According to her, the saddest part is that the market that has been painstakingly built and the neatly arranged algorithm are now in disarray.

"It's unfortunate for the brand that my live schedule on peak payday got postponed, so it gets affected. It's frustrating that the market was already formed and the system was in place. If it stays off for too long, we have to pull the audience back, and the algorithm will be messy again," she said.

"Last night I checked, the audience had not returned, usually 5-7 thousand watch during live selling, but yesterday there were only 80-100 people. I couldn't sell anything because the system was affected, causing disruptions. So I could only ask for forgiveness and pray that everything will return to normal," he continued.

Bluntly, this former child singer revealed the estimated loss of revenue he experienced. With gross earnings of tens of millions per day, the halt of the live feature for several days made him lose potential income of up to hundreds of millions of rupiah.

"Seeing the revenue could be 30 million per day. I broadcast for 3-6 hours a day with real-time revenue. Yes, five days off, that's 30x4 alone," he explained.

Although this feature has returned, Chikita Meidy admits her struggle is not over. She has to start over again to attract viewers and 'fix' the algorithm that is not as friendly as it used to be.
