Chilla Kiana, Surabaya-born Singer Who Made it Big and Became a Disney Songwriter

Kapanlagi.com - Indonesia never stops producing talented young people. The latest is a young woman named Chilla Kiana who has made Indonesia proud. This Surabaya-born singer has been involved in several Disney Channel Asia series.

Chilla started her music career 7 years ago. The singer who is also skilled in playing the piano joined Disney Channel Asia in 2016. She was chosen to represent Indonesia to sing the song The Glow which is the soundtrack of Disney Princesses.

"The Glow is an international Disney project sung by singers chosen from various Asian, European, and American countries," explained Chilla Kiana, on Monday (25/4).

After The Glow, Chilla was chosen again to sing a song from the series Elena of Avalor, as well as voice the character of Princess Elena. Not stopping there, the singer born on September 30, 1996 was then chosen to sing Part of Your World to commemorate the 30th anniversary of The Little Mermaid.

Currently, Chilla is preparing her new song with Universal Music Indonesia. Not only focusing on personal achievement, this cum laude graduate of International Business Management from Pelita Harapan University wants her work to also inspire other young generations.

"My biggest dream is to have a broad and positive impact. My nearest goal is to have an album. I think now is the time for us to shine," she said.

Yes, Chilla invites young generations to create and show the world that Indonesia has extraordinary talents. According to her, this is the right time to showcase our abilities, considering the rapid development of technology.

"The world is experiencing rapid development supported by technological advances. We, the young generation of Indonesia, have the same opportunity as other countries to speak up to the world," explained Chilla.

3. Proud of Indonesia Movement

This singer who idolizes Joni Mitchell, Amy Winehouse, and Iwan Fals has created a Proud of Indonesia movement through interesting content on her Instagram account @gueindonesiabgt. In addition, amidst her busy schedule, Chilla takes the time to teach English through her Tiktok account @chillakiana.

"My goal is only one, to invite friends to be proud as Indonesians and to love this country even more. The opportunity for us to speak globally is already open, and one of the most important requirements is to be able to speak English. But not all of us have that opportunity, luckily I can and I help as much as I can," said this woman who loves reading.
