Chosen Pidi Baiq to Play Dilan in the Film 'ANCIKA: DIA YANG BERSAMAKU 1995', Arbani Yasiz Admits Not Knowing the Reason

Kapanlagi.com - The fourth Dilan film titled ANCIKA: DIA YANG BERSAMAKU 1995 will be released in theaters in early January 2024. The actor who plays Dilan is no longer Iqbaal Ramadhan but Arbani Yasiz.

The change of cast was because Iqbaal no longer wanted to play the character Dilan. So the producers then looked for a suitable replacement actor.

"Why not Iqbaal? The problem is not with us, but with Iqbaal. We have offered it to Iqbaal but at that time he had reasons related to Pidi's father, if I'm not mistaken, he wanted to move away from the character Dilan. Finally, he refused to play again in this sequel," said Budi Ismanto, the producer, in a press conference in the Thamrin area, Central Jakarta, some time ago.

In a different interview session, Arbani Yasiz, who played Dilan in the movie ANCIKA: DIA YANG BERSAMAKU 1995, said that his participation was directly chosen by Pidi Baiq. When they met and talked, the writer expressed his intention for Arbani to be involved.

"Coincidentally, it was Pidi Baiq's father who offered it directly. The timing was perfect when I was in Bandung and invited to meet. We talked, and then I was asked to be Dilan. He said, 'Well, you will be Dilan next.' And I was like, 'Huh, me?'" Arbani said when met at Empire XXI, Yogyakarta, last week.

2. Don't Know the Reason for Being Chosen

When chosen to portray the new version of Dilan in ANCIKA: DIA YANG BERSAMAKU 1995, Arbani Yasiz had no reason to refuse. In fact, he didn't know the reason why Pidi Baiq chose him.

"He didn't say the reason (for choosing me). He just said, 'You will be the next Dilan. You also have my wife's blessing.' I was just prepared," Arbani said.
