Actor Ammar Zoni once again arrested by the police for drug abuse. According to the statement of West Jakarta Metro Police Chief, Kombes Pol M Syahdudi, Ammar Zoni's arrest was based on information from the public that a man was involved in drug abuse in an apartment in the BSD area, Tangerang. After the arrest, the authorities conducted an investigation and apprehended Ammar Zoni. Many people were surprised, especially since Ammar Zoni had recently been released from prison for the same case.
"Tuesday December 12, 2023 around 21.49 WIB the officer arrested suspect AZ known as a public figure," said M Syahduddi in a press conference at West Jakarta Metro Police, Friday (15/12/2023).
From the arrest, the police confiscated evidence of 4 packages of methamphetamine weighing gross 4.36 grams, 1 package of marijuana weighing gross 1.32 grams, 1 cigarette holder, 1 paper, and 1 mobile phone.
After interrogation, it was revealed that Ammar Zoni received marijuana and methamphetamine from suspect AH.
"Furthermore, the officers successfully arrested AH on December 13, 2023. Based on AH's statement, he received the illicit substances from his brother Yongki who is currently on the run," said M Syahduddi.
From the results of the interrogation, it is known that Ammar Zoni's motive for consuming drugs. "The motive is for venting when he experiences problems in his household, so he uses the illegal substance," he said.
For his actions, Ammar Zoni is charged with Article 112 paragraph 1 and Article 111 paragraph 1 in conjunction with Article 132 paragraph 1 of the Indonesian Republic Law No.35 of 2009 concerning narcotics, with a minimum punishment of 4 years in prison or a minimum fine of one billion rupiah plus one-third.
Hopefully, from this arrest, Ammar Zoni can truly learn a lesson and not fall into the same place. Whatever punishment Ammar will face, hopefully, he can still rise and continue his career in the entertainment industry.
