Chronology of Glenn Fredly's Death, Still Seen Healthy When Celebrating Wife's Birthday

Kapanlagi.com - Glenn Fredly passed away at the age of 44. The music world in the country mourns the loss of one productive figure in music. Glenn is known to have died from complications of meningitis, as stated by Setia Mitra hospital. This was also confirmed by his family members represented by Uci (Glenn's sister) and Aldy (cousin).

When met at the mourning house of Heaven Dharmais, West Jakarta, on Thursday (9/4) early morning, both of them explained the chronology of Glenn's death to avoid misinformation.

"We lost (Glenn Fredly) at 18:47 WIB. As for the reason, the hospital has already provided an explanation, which is complications of meningitis," said Uci.

1. Previously Discharged from the Hospital But Deteriorated Again

Uci and Aldy explained that in the past few weeks, the condition of the singer of the hit song in January has indeed declined. "His condition has dropped, especially in the past few days," they said. Although he had been discharged from the hospital and diagnosed as healthy, Glenn's health condition dropped again. "Only recently, and the drop happened in the past week. He did go out and was healthy, even yesterday on Ayu's birthday, they were together and everything was fine."

Seen on his Instagram account, four days ago Glenn uploaded a short video clip showing him and his wife on the beach while giving birthday wishes.

2. Glenn's Breathing is Disturbed

It is known that Glenn was readmitted to the hospital on Monday (04/09). Initially, he was treated in a regular room until Wednesday (04/08) morning when his condition worsened and he had to be treated in the ICU.

"He was admitted to the hospital on Monday, in a regular room, and then this morning his condition dropped and he was moved to the ICU. His breathing was disturbed and dropped, and finally at 18:47 WIB, our brother, Ayu's husband, Gewa's father, peacefully rested and was called by God back to the embrace of our Heavenly Father in heaven," said Uci.

3. Experience Meningitis Complications

Meningitis is a disease caused by a bacterial infection that attacks the brain. Quoting the Mayo Clinic page, meningitis is a condition when the membranes (meninges) surrounding the central nervous system, namely the brain and spinal cord, become inflamed. After that, the membranes will swell.

Indeed, this disease will improve on its own within a few weeks. However, if left untreated, meningitis will cause serious complications and worsen over time.

4. Glenn Has Fought

On that occasion, Uci and Aldy expressed their deepest gratitude to everyone who attended to support the family in this time of mourning. For the family, Glenn's departure is God's good plan.

"His fight is over, he has fought, and it is true that there are complications in his head, which is called meningitis. We just want to do our best for our brother (Glenn)," he explained.

5. Please Pray for a Smooth Funeral

The late Glenn is planned to be buried in Tanah Kusir Cemetery. The family requests prayers for the funeral to go smoothly, both during the burial process and the course of the religious ceremony.

"So we will bring (the deceased) to Sumber Kasih Church, because he grew up there and our parents want him to leave the church," he concluded.
