Chronology of Sonny Septian Suspected of Food Poisoning Until Vomiting 12 Times, Fairuz A Rafiq Says Clear Fluid Came Out

Husband Fairuz A Rafiq, Sonny Septian was taken to the hospital on Friday (19/7/2024). He is suspected of food poisoning after eating at a famous restaurant. Fairuz explained the chronology of the incident experienced by her beloved husband.

Fairuz explained that the incident began when they ate together at a famous restaurant that served the concept of "all you can eat". In addition to Sonny and Fairuz, they also ate with Fairuz's sister, mother, and some of their employees.

"So we were eating at one of the restaurants, the restaurant where we ate was also famous," said Fairuz at RS Abdi Waluyo, Central Jakarta, Saturday (20/7/2024).

"Coincidentally, we were eating all you can eat and at that time we were eating together, taking two tables and there were staff members with me," he continued.

According to Fairuz, while they were eating, no one felt sick or showed any symptoms. All family members and employees ate normally without any suspicion. They enjoyed various dishes available, including chicken, beef, and seafood.

"Me, Sonny, my older brother, and my mother, when we were eating, we were all healthy without any illness at all. We just enjoyed our meal without thinking about anything," he said.

After returning from the restaurant, in the afternoon around five o'clock, Sonny began to feel nauseous. At first, Fairuz thought Sonny was just experiencing normal stomach ache and gave him a sweet drink to relieve his symptoms. However, the nausea became worse and Sonny started vomiting.

"Well, when I came back from eating suddenly, at around 5 in the afternoon, I felt nauseous. I thought it was just a normal stomachache since I had consumed something sweet but it didn't help. It seemed like I was going to vomit." She said.

Sonny vomited twelve times, and it wasn't just ordinary vomit. All the food he had eaten came out until only clear liquid remained. Seeing the worsening condition, Fairuz decided to take Sonny to the hospital.

"Out of nowhere, he started vomiting, then sat down, and vomited again until it happened 12 times, and it wasn't like ordinary vomit anymore. Everything came out until the last bit, only clear liquid, and there was nothing left to vomit." Fairuz said.

Fairuz suspects that the cause of Sonny's poisoning is seafood, especially crab that was not fully cooked when Sonny took it. Fairuz remembers that Sonny took the crab that was not fully boiled, unlike herself who always makes sure the food is cooked before taking it.

"Because none of us others got sick. I do remember why Sonny got sick, it was when we had the crab and the crab was not fully boiled yet, but he took it. I'm different, I only take it when it's fully cooked," she said.

The doctor who treated Sonny stated that the risk of food poisoning is indeed higher in seafood that is not fully cooked. Therefore, it is important to ensure that all food, especially seafood, is properly cooked before consumption. "Because none of us others got sick. I do remember why Sonny got sick, it was when we had the crab and the crab was not fully boiled yet, but he took it. I'm different, I only take it when it's fully cooked," she said.

"At that time, I did eat a lot and was confused because there was chicken and beef. But most likely, according to the doctor, the risks are from seafood," she said.

"It should have been cooked first, maybe I was hungry so I just took it. I felt it from there because I asked each family member and none of them were sick or vomited," she concluded.
