Tantri's Response to Ahmad Dhani's Statement Regarding Kotak Singing Songs Without the Creator's Permission

Kapanlagi.com - Musician Ahmad Dhani once again became the center of attention after mentioning the band Kotak, who still sings songs created by their former member, Posan Tobing.

This was revealed by Dhani through a post on social media on Sunday (14/7/2024). Dhani shared a screenshot of Kotak's concert setlist held in Cianjur, West Java, on July 13, 2024.

The songs questioned by Dhani are Tinggalkan Saja, Masih Cinta, and Pelan-pelan Saja. Dhani questioned Kotak's decision to still perform these songs even though Posan Tobing has long left the band.

In response, Kotak's vocalist, Tantri, stated that she respects Dhani's attention to musician royalties.

"Let's talk about something else. If Mr. Dhani is concerned about royalties, I truly respect that," said Tantri when met at XXI Epicentrum, Thursday (18/7/2024).

1. Already Answered

Tantri also added that she felt it was not her place to answer questions about performing those songs.

"It's just a matter of performing songs, it's not my place to answer, Kotak has also answered a few years ago through a video on YouTube, please open it, this time I won't comment," she said.

2. Highlighting Royalties

Tantri prefers to highlight Dhani's efforts in discussing musician royalties.

"Now I respond more to Mr. Dhani who seriously discusses musician royalties, so there's nothing to worry about," she concluded.
