Codeblu Reported to Bareskrim Polri for Alleged Extortion and Defamation

Famous content creator Codeblu is back in legal trouble. The party PT Prima Hidup Lestari, the owner of the Clairmont cake brand, has officially reported the YouTuber with the initials CB or WA to the Bareskrim Mabes Polri for alleged defamation and extortion.

This report has been registered with the number STTL/51/II/2026/BARESKRIM since February 2. Clairmont's legal counsel, Reagan Jayawisastra, explained that this report is a technical step to follow up on actions deemed harmful to their client, both in terms of reputation and materially.

"Thank you to the friends who have come. I will explain more about the technical aspects of the report. So what we are reporting here, the person with the initials CB, whose real name is WA, we are reporting to Mabes Polri," said Reagan in Kebon Sirih, Central Jakarta, Friday (13/2/2026).

The reporting party applies Article 29 and Article 35 of the ITE Law in the report. Article 29 is used because it relates to cyberbullying actions and the alleged extortion carried out by the influencer through the modus operandi of offering consulting services at a very high value.

"Because the modus operandi is consulting. Initially, they even offered a fee of IDR 600 or 650 million. Then under the pretext, 'Oh I’m giving a discount,' offering back Rp 350 million which for us is actually not a good offer, but a form of extortion that we now call digital thuggery," said Reagan.

In addition to the alleged extortion, Codeblu is also accused of manipulating authentic data. The Clairmont party feels defamed regarding the accusation of providing moldy cakes to an orphanage and using cake accessories or toppers that are claimed to be resold to customers.

"The second is Article 35. Why? Because there is manipulation of authentic data. For example, our client is accused of delivering cakes that are already moldy and rotten to the orphanage," he said."And secondly, using toppers that have been touched and then placed on the cake to be sold, even though that is actually just for display," added Reagan.

The owner of Clairmont, Susana Darmawan, claimed to have suffered significant losses amounting to IDR 5 billion during the period from late 2024 to 2025. According to her, the negative reviews spread during the peak sales moment, causing the large stock that had been prepared to remain unsold.

"Our losses are not small because when we were defamed, it was during peak season when we had prepared thousands of stocks, hundreds of millions to billions in inventory, which went unsold after the season. But we still have to pay all suppliers, employees, and living as an entrepreneur is not as easy as Mr. Ikhsan said," said Susana.

In addition, Susana admitted to having communicated with Codeblu to understand the situation regarding the Clairmont cake controversy. The meeting was held to seek clarity on the negative reviews that had gone viral.

On that occasion, Codeblu expressed regret for giving a bad review. However, instead of ending with an apology, the situation developed in another direction. Susana suspected there was an extortion attempt under the pretext of offering consulting services to improve the brand's image. She claimed to be shocked when she heard the proposed fee.

"Eh, suddenly they offered a consultant fee of IDR 350 million, how could this happen? 'Because our rate is IDR 650 million,'" said Susana.
