Kapanlagi.com - John Paul Patton alias Coki, the bassist of the band Kelompok Penerbang Roket (KPR), shares the story of the Rocket Flying Group edition shoe design. The limited edition shoes have 3 variants. These three variants are designs from the KPR personnel, Rey Marshall (guitarist), Viki Vikranta (drummer), and John Paul Patton (bassist).
"So this limited edition Compass shoe releases 3 variants that represent the individual characters of KPR personnel," said Coki after the performance of the Collabonation Meroket Bersama Compass tour at M Bloc Space, Thursday (6/3/2020).
He continued, for Rey Marshall's special shoes (guitarist), they are designed with purple color with a lightning character on the logo. Meanwhile, Viki Vikranta's edition shoes (drummer) are white with snake skin on the shoes.
"As for my edition shoes (Coki), I designed them with a pastel blue color when exposed to sunlight. In addition, there is an animal print on the logo with a touch of pink color on the laces. All shoes are made with corduroy material that is very comfortable to wear," said Coki.
In the process of designing the special edition shoes, Coki said it only took two meetings to produce the best design.
"For the design, the process is fast. First, the KPR team provides the design to Compass beforehand." After that, Compass showed an example of the design on the shoes. When I saw the result, it was really cool. According to the design I wanted," said Coki.
Regarding Collabonation, Coki said that IM3 Ooredoo is very supportive of this event.
"IM3 Ooredoo is very flexible and supportive of this event. In essence, KPR, Compass, and Indosat IM3 Ooredoo have the same vision and mission. That's why we work together," explained Coki.
Collaborating in Collabonation
Collabonation Soars Together with Compass is a platform for collaboration between millennial generation and experienced creators.
In the final leg of the Collabonation tour, IM3 Ooredoo brought together music creators Kelompok Penerbang Roket, shoe creator Compass, and IM3 Ooredoo, the leading telecommunications and digital provider in Indonesia.
The event, which took place at M Bloc Space on Thursday (5/3/2020), also featured the latest single from Kelompok Penerbang Roket and the purchase of special edition Compass shoes by Kelompok Penerbang Roket.
Vice President-Head of PR and Brand Activation, Benny Hutagalung, said that IM3 Ooredoo intentionally provides a unique experience in the collaboration found in Collabonation.
"Actually, this collaboration idea started from a discussion between us (IM3 Ooredoo) and Kelompok Penerbang Roket. Because of our shared vision and mission, Collabonation was born," said Benny Hutagalung during a press conference at M Bloc Space, Jakarta.
Furthermore, Benny said that in addition to the performance by KPR, Collabonation today also includes the purchase of special edition Compass shoes by KPR.
"There are 300 pairs of shoes available in Jakarta. There are also 150 pairs of shoes in other cities. Alhamdulilah there were no problems while queuing, all the audience arrived," said Benny Hutagalung.
It is known that the special edition Compass shoes by Kelompok Penerbang Roket will only be sold during the Collabonation Meroket Bersama Compass tour in five cities. This special edition shoe is sold for Rp 658,000 and is available in three designs created by Kelompok Penerbang Roket personnel: Rey Marshall (guitarist), Viki Vikranta (drums), and John Paul Patton (bass).
During the performance, Kelompok Penerbang Roket performed their flagship songs, such as "mati muda", "anjing jalanan", and their latest single, "dikejar setan".
About the limited edition shoes, Aji Handoko, a representative from Compass Shoes, explained that the Kelompok Penerbang Roket edition of Compass shoes has a genuine idea, showcasing the honest character of each personnel and executed well.
"The idea of using corduroy material was taken from the identity of the rock era of the 70s, Jimi Hendrix and Woodstock. Each shoe has a different strength and they do not 'eat' each other, making the audience confused when they have to choose. A different perspective in executing a shoe brand collaboration with a band," said Aji.
Meanwhile, Kelompok Penerbang Roket will introduce their latest single on this tour. The band, under the Jakarta-based record label, Berita Angkasa, will perform the song titled "Dikejar Setan" for the first time during the Collabonation Meroket Bersama Compass tour in five cities.
