Singer Citra Scholastika has finally decided to return and enliven the music industry of the homeland with her latest work titled Pernah Singgah. This latest song also becomes the original soundtrack for the feature film Layangan Putus The Movie.
When met in the Pasar Minggu area, South Jakarta, on Monday (25/12), this sixth season Indonesian Idol alumna admitted that she is happy to be able to work again. However, she did not deny that there were many obstacles in choosing a suitable song.
"Yes, I was kind of hesitant to find a song and there hasn't been one that clicked with me," said Citra Scholastika.
Incidentally, Layangan Putus The Movie became the right moment to mark Citra's return to the music industry. Moreover, this 29-year-old woman also enjoys the Layangan Putus series.
"Fun fact, earlier I really liked the series and suddenly I was contacted by a label and they told me that MD was looking for a singer for Layangan Putus The Movie and asked if I wanted to do it or not? I haven't responded yet and now I'm still in shock because I was chosen," she said.
"Well, I'm really happy because I've been wanting to make a comeback for quite a long time, but I didn't know how, because if I talk about a comeback but there's no good plan or strategy, it would just be releasing a song after 6 years of not releasing any songs. So, what I want for a real comeback is something extra in the promotion," she continued.
When asked further, Citra admitted that she actually didn't want to sing a sad-themed song. However, the response she received from the single Pernah Singgah was unexpectedly good.
Therefore, it doesn't matter for her to produce many new sad songs in 2024.
"At first, I didn't want to sing sad songs, but I got a really cool project in 2024," she said.
"Okay, if I have to sing sad songs, there should be something more, so because of the good response to Pernah Singgah, there will be more collaborations and sad songs in 2024," she concluded.
