Come Back, Director and Writer Rachmania Arunita Prepares Her Latest Film Titled 'KOMA'

Kapanlagi.com - Maybe not many people are familiar with the figure of Rachmania Arunita, a director and writer who turns out to be the person behind the success of the film titled EIFFEL I'M IN LOVE and the latest one, CINTA ITU BUTA starring Shandy Aulia and Dodit Mulyanto.

After finishing her latest film, Rachmania is back to coloring the national film industry with her latest work adapted from her own book titled KOMA.

1. Have You Chosen the Main Actor

When met at her residence in Cinere, Depok, West Java recently, Rachmania shared how the plot of the film she will soon work on will be. Not only that, although she is still in the process of finalizing the script, the 34-year-old woman admitted that she has chosen the actor for the main character.

"About a woman named Jani in her twenties, she has trouble in her mind and family, she has a boyfriend one day while driving, she has a quite serious accident, when she wakes up she realizes she is looking at her body lying in the hospital," said Rachmania Arunita.

2. Already 50 Percent

"The preparations are already 50 percent done and what's clear is that the main cast has been locked, there are 4 characters, the rest is because the supporting actors haven't been determined yet but there are already several names," she continued.

Later on, for the actors in her film, Rachmania apparently doesn't want to use famous actors. According to her, the audience will have a hard time erasing the image of characters played by well-known actors.

3. New Characters

"Yes, so that it's like a blank sheet of paper, when people see actors who have frequently appeared in films, they will definitely see the same character from the films they have played before, in my opinion, the audience will have a hard time separating them. So that people can truly see that the character is new," she said.

In addition, Rachmania Arunita also explained that the film, which will soon be produced in 2021, is based on her own book that was published and became a bestseller in 2013. She also mentioned that when her book was published, many producers offered to adapt the story of KOMA into a feature film.

4. Already Best Seller

"Yes, because this Koma has been published since 2013 and has become a best seller and has received a lot of input from people asking to be made into a film. So why was it only realized after 7 years because it had actually been offered before but I refused because I wasn't in the mood yet. The story is very personal," she concluded.
