Rebecca Klopper's intention to see and hear the verdict against the suspect distributing her obscene video was not fulfilled. This is because when Rebecca came with her legal team, the trial was already over.
It is known that Bayu Firlen was declared guilty by the judges and sentenced to 3 years in prison, reduced by the detention period, and fined Rp 1 billion. Bayu has accepted his punishment and the verdict has become legally binding.
Rebecca claims to be satisfied with the punishment imposed by the panel of judges. She also appreciates the parties involved in the case until it can be revealed.
"Basically, everything has been represented by Mr. Sandi, I respect the legal process and the best court decision," said Rebecca at the South Jakarta District Court on Thursday (18/1/2024).
"That's why I am also grateful to everyone involved, the police, the prosecutor, the lawyer, and the court. Thank you very much," continued Rebecca.
Sandy Arifin, Rebecca's legal representative, expressed gratitude that the case could finally be resolved. The perpetrator herself will also undergo punishment according to her committed wrongdoing.
"In this case, as legal representatives, we submit all decisions to the panel of judges, our client accepts, and the essence is to respect all legal processes," said Sandy.
With this punishment, Sandy and Rebecca hope that in the future there will be no more individuals who dare to commit the same crime. Of course, because there is a punishment waiting if there are still those who try to do the same thing.
"In the future, we urge that if someone posts again, we will not hesitate to report it again, we have proven that our report has been decided by the court with a sentence of 3 years and 4 months, so that there will be no more individuals spreading and committing ITE violations," he concluded.
Previously, Rebecca Klopper admitted to not knowing Bayu Firlen, the perpetrator of the spread of the explicit video. The trial was previously conducted in closed session due to its relation to pornography.
Unlike before, this trial is now open to the public.
