Kapanlagi.com - Music Awards Japan is a new annual awards event from the Land of the Rising Sun initiated by the Japan Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association and focuses on appreciating the music industry in Japan, Asia, and the Western region. This event was held for the first time this year, specifically on May 21-22, 2025, at the Rohm Theater, Kyoto. Bernadya, an Indonesian musician who is currently gaining a lot of public attention, is one of the names competing for victory in the program.

On October 22, 2024, the Music Awards Japan was first introduced to the public with the main goal of promoting Japanese and Asian music on the international stage. The background for the establishment of this award event is closely related to the reasons for strengthening, transforming, and opening the Japanese music market to a global audience.

Almost two full months later, the Japan Culture and Entertainment Industry Promotion Association, which consists of Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ), Japan Association of Music Enterprises, Federation of Music Producers Japan, Music Publishers Association of Japan, and All Japan Concert & Live Entertainment Promoter's Conference, announced six main award categories for the Music Awards Japan. Several other categories were added in January 2025.

1. Bernadya Becomes a Candidate for One of the Nominations

As the peak night of the 2025 Music Awards Japan approaches, Bernadya's name was announced as one of the candidates for the main category "Best Song Asia" for her hit song titled Satu Bulan. The young rising musician from Indonesia has to compete with PLAVE, Regina Song, aespa, and Jeff Satur.

Unfortunately, Bernadya failed to bring home the trophy from the awards ceremony. The throne was successfully claimed by aespa with their phenomenal song from 2024, Supernova. Nevertheless, the Indonesian music industry is still proud of Bernadya and the victory of Salma Salsabil for the song Bunga Hati in the nomination Special Award: Indonesian Popular Music.

Not only ordinary categories, the Music Awards Japan also presents several special awards. One of the musicians awarded the special award is Salma Salsabil for her viral song that also won many awards from the AMI Awards 2024, Bunga Hati.

The Indonesian Idol season 12 alum has successfully made history for the Indonesian music industry through her single in the R&B genre released on November 17, 2023. Bunga Hati is a song about a woman who separates from the person she likes and then meets again one day, exchanging glances with each other. However, her beloved does not seem to feel the same way towards her.
