Condolences, Senior Actor Yayu Unru Passed Away

Kapanlagi.com - Condolences once again envelop the entertainment world. On Friday (8/12), Yayu Unru passed away. This was known from actor Teuku Rifnu Wikana's Instagram story on the same day.

"Has returned to His embrace, our teacher, @yayuunru. He was a good person, in the world of theater and film he brought a lot of virtue," wrote Rifnu.

"May Allah place him by His side, farewell my brother," continued the star of the film MIRACLE IN CELL NO.7.

1. Experiencing Two Heart Attacks

Previously reported, Yayu Unru underwent a ring installation after experiencing two heart attacks. The first attack occurred on December 4, 2023. The second attack occurred the following day. Yayu Unru's son, Naza Unru, stated that the critical phase had passed.

"The operation was performed because my father's condition did not show any improvement. Alhamdulillah, the operation went smoothly for about 45 minutes. After the operation, my father regained consciousness after 24 hours," Naza Unru explained to the media this week.

Yayu Unru has been acting since 1985. His career continued until the end of his life. In 2017, he won the Citra Award for Best Supporting Actor for his performance in the film POSESIF.

That was not his first Citra Award. Previously, in 2014, he won the same category for the film TABULA RASA. Then in 2018, Yayu Unru became the Choice Supporting Actor in the Tempo Film Festival for his performance in the film MENUNGGU PAGI.

In addition to being an actor and starring in many feature films, Yayu Unru is also an acting coach for young actors and actresses. He has also been a style director and dialect consultant.
