Confirming Celine Evangelista Has Converted to Islam, Umi Pipik: Her Conversion Was a Long Time Ago

In the caption, Pipik expresses her prayers for Shandy who is pregnant. Pipik also encourages Celine Evangelista who is in the process.

Speculation that Celine has converted to Islam is growing. Moreover, Celine's response to Pipik has been very Islamic in tone. "Masya Allaah thank you very much Umi, it makes me feel more at peace," wrote Celine.

1. Has Been a Convert for a Long Time

Regarding the rumors of Celine converting to Islam, it turns out Pipik confirmed the news. When meeting with reporters recently, Pipik stated that Celine has actually been a Muslim for a long time.

"Actually, she (Celine) has been a convert for quite a while," Pipik said as quoted from YouTube STARPRO, Thursday, (16/8).

"As for wearing the hijab, not yet. It’s a process, I mean. People can’t just do it instantly. It has to be gradual," she continued.

2. Pipik Accompanies Celine's Hijrah

Pipik also conveyed that she has been a companion while Celine is in the process of converting to Islam. Celine sometimes participates in the studies organized by Pipik regularly.

"She wants to join, wants to keep learning," Pipik said.

The mother of four also prays that Celine continues to be steadfast in learning about Islam. "I hope her enthusiasm for the process continues. Because it’s definitely not easy. There will surely be tests. But when we are in the process, slowly but surely, insya Allah, God will guide us, despite our ignorance," she concluded.

Before being reported to have converted to Islam, Celine often attended religious studies. However, she always remained silent when asked about her beliefs, never wanting to answer.

It can be said that since 2019, Celine has been joining iftar gatherings. After that, she became more diligent in attending study sessions and wearing a hijab, although she previously denied converting to Islam. Now, that question has been answered by Umi Pipik.
