Congratulations! After 9 Years, Rachel Maryam and Husband's Marriage is Now Recognized by the State

Kapanlagi.com - In 2011, Rachel Maryam was married in secret by Edwin Aprihandono. Now, they have chosen to apply for legal recognition of their marriage. The application has been made since 10 days ago.

After going through the court process, Rachel and Edwin are now officially husband and wife. Unfortunately, during the official ceremony, both Rachel and Edwin were unable to attend and were represented by 2 witnesses.

"It's true (we didn't attend). The consideration is because of the pregnancy and the current pandemic situation which is risky for me and my husband to attend in person. So we were represented by legal representatives. There is no problem. It is still legally valid," said Rachel when contacted on Monday (3/8/2020)

1. Reasons for Getting Married Legally

Furthermore, Rachel revealed the reasons why she and her husband finally decided to apply for legal recognition after getting married unofficially 9 years ago.

"Yes, we got married on December 16, 2011, but it was only a religious ceremony. Alhamdulillah, today we have received the verdict and our marriage is legally recognized. Initially, we didn't feel the urgency to legalize our marriage, but now I am heavily pregnant and we believe it would be better for our baby's life and future if we officially get married in the eyes of the law as well," said the 40-year-old woman.

Throughout their 9 years together, Rachel and Edwin have managed to stay away from scandalous rumors. Their married life has also rarely been in the media spotlight. Rachel feels grateful because she is currently pregnant with their first child and also happy about the news regarding the legal status of their marriage.

"Alhamdulillah, my husband and I feel grateful. And we hope that this will bring more blessings to our marriage and family life," Rachel concluded.
