Create a Warm Atmosphere, Kahitna Successfully Invites the Audience to 'GAIA Music Festival: Jazz in The Valley' as if Entering a Time Machine

Kapanlagi.com - The music group Kahitna once again succeeded in bringing a nostalgic atmosphere while performing at the GAIA Music Festival (GMF): Jazz in The Valley on the first day in Bandung, West Java, (3/7) Saturday night. Mario Ginanjar, Hedi Yunus, Yovie Widianto, and five other members seemed to hypnotize the audience with their favorite songs performed with beautiful Jazz arrangements.

The atmosphere became even warmer when Kahitna performed the song Cerita Cinta. After that, Yovie mentioned that Bandung holds a significant story about Kahitna, which always considers performing in Bandung as a homecoming moment for them.

"When we perform in Bandung, we always feel like we're coming home. We are happy to be here again, meeting friends and this atmosphere that we truly miss," Yovie expressed from the stage.

"Yes, we can be this close. We can meet directly, take photos, shake hands, embrace, those are sweet moments for Kahitna that we always remember every time we come to Bandung," added Hedi Yunus.

1. Audience Enthusiasm

Nostalgia with Kahitna continued through the songs Andai Dia Tahu, Katakan Saja, and Cinta Sudah Lewat. At that moment, unique moments often occurred, one of which was when Hedi Yunus came down from the stage to greet the audience directly.

The enthusiasm of the audience at that time was very palpable, even Hedi Yunus and Mario Ginanjar seemed not to need to exert much energy when they performed the song Mantan Terindah. However, Yovie was confused because his sad songs actually made the audience smile when they heard them.

"I’m confused. When I wrote that song, it was actually a sad song. Why is it that when I perform this song, so many people are smiling? Or the couples are looking at each other and getting angry, 'come on, remember who'," said Yovie.

2. Into the Time Machine

In addition, Kahitna's stage action continued with the performance of the song 'Untukku'. The song, released in 1997 by Chrisye, made the entire audience feel as if they were entering a time machine.

Many audience members shouted as if expressing their longing for Chrisye.

"This song has been heard across several continents. And specifically here at GAIA, we are playing this. A tribute to Chrisye," explained Yovie.

3. Sweet Closure

The Kahitna performance was finally sweetly closed with the song that the audience had been waiting for, namely, Cantik. Instantly, this song made the audience rise and stand from their seats to join in dancing.
