Kapanlagi.com - Doctor Richard Lee has recently become the center of attention due to his latest content on social media. Because of that content, he is considered to be demeaning people who enjoy eating on the side of the road by calling them 'gembel'.

Regarding the controversy caused by his content, when met in the Kuningan area, South Jakarta, on Wednesday (8/11), Richard Lee finally spoke up. He emphasized that he never intended to demean people who enjoy eating on the side of the road.

As for the term 'gembel', it refers to Richard Lee himself. Because at that moment, he was only wearing a t-shirt and shorts.

"The caption was actually about being a bum first, eating on the side of the road. It means that I was the one who looked like a bum there, then eating on the side of the road," said Richard Lee.

"Coincidentally, on that day I was wearing casual clothes, shorts. Usually I never dress like that. Even when eating on the side of the road, I still look neat. That's why I said I was a bum first, the one who looked like a bum was me," he continued.

Richard Lee explained that he often eats on the side of the road. Therefore, he was confused why people could be so angry with his statement on Instagram.

"I often eat on the side of the road, and for me it's normal. I don't know what the problem is. Even though I never equate eating on the side of the road with being a bum. That's why I don't understand if I need to add more education or what, I don't get it," he said.

In addition, he hopes that this explanation can clarify any misunderstandings that have occurred. However, Richard Lee will not apologize for creating that content.

"Well, maybe for the younger ones, they can learn Indonesian language better. But if they still feel that I am the one at fault, then it means I need to go back to school. Personally, I don't feel there was anything wrong with that content. So I don't need clarification or an apology," he concluded.
