Daniel Mananta Successfully Breaks His Own Marathon Record by Preparing Himself to Complete the Virtual Marathon Target

Kapanlagi.com - Daniel Mananta finally achieved his marathon target of 42.119 kilometers on Sunday, August 30, 2020. Not only that, the Indonesian Brand ambassador for Uniqlo Sport Utility Wear even managed to create his best marathon record.

The former MTV VJ completed the entire route in just 4 hours and 25 minutes. According to the father of two, his achievement would not have been possible without the support of his pacers, marshalls, coach, and everyone who provided refueling supplies and cheered him on.

"If it weren't for the pacers, marshalls, coach, and everyone who provided refueling supplies and cheered me on, I would not have been able to finish," Daniel said after crossing the finish line in Jakarta.

1. Many Challenges

In addition, Daniel also revealed many challenges he faced during the marathon amidst the Covid-19 pandemic, such as the voices in his head urging him to stop running. However, even though he was only running the marathon alone, Daniel's preparation was not half-hearted, as he was accompanied by a special coach who always pushed him to train for two months.

"In my head, there are voices saying, 'It's okay, Nil, if you walk. They can edit it later.' But, I kept running because they kept pushing me, and finally today is my personal best for a marathon," he said.

2. Last Minute Preparation at the Hotel

Not only that, a day before the marathon, the 39-year-old presenter deliberately stayed at a hotel and did his final preparations. He also received final instructions from his coach to finish with a happy feeling.

When the marathon day arrived, Daniel intentionally woke up at 3 AM and immediately put on a set of sportswear provided by Uniqlo, which all the clothes were equipped with technology to keep the clothes dry from sweat even under the scorching weather.
