Daring Move, Prilly Latuconsina Becomes a Film Producer with Mental Health Theme

Recently, she even had the opportunity to become the youngest judge at the INDONESIA MOVIE ACTOR AWARDS 2020. This 23-year-old woman was chosen because of her extensive experience in the film industry. She also revealed that her next plan is to become a film producer.

"I am currently in the process of writing a drama film script. Please pray that there will be no obstacles so that we can start production in August. I am grateful to be trusted with this producer role," said Prilly Latuconsina when met in Kebon Jeruk, West Jakarta, on Thursday (5/3).

1. Joining Film

Prilly admits that she likes to challenge herself to create more. She reveals that in the film she is working on, she will also be involved as an actress.

"I will definitely play a role in that film. Actually, I can't wait for a production house to offer me the story. Because I'm afraid that no one will pick up the story, so I'll pick it up myself. Okay, let's raise this issue and make our own film," she said.

She added, "Making this film requires a daring attitude because if not me, then who? And in my opinion, nowadays we shouldn't be afraid to make a film whether it will be successful or not."

2. Addressing Mental Health

Unlike typical Indonesian films that focus on love themes, this time Prilly chooses to address mental health. Unfortunately, she still keeps the artists who will be involved in this film a secret.

"Coincidentally, many of my friends around me actually have mental illnesses but they are afraid to talk about it. I have a program for sharing stories, and there are many people with mental illnesses or who have them but are unaware, so we will address it in the film. The story is very relatable to today's teenagers and the current free-spirited lifestyle," said Prilly.

"I'm not ready to be a director yet. As a director, we have to portray the script, but as an actress, I can think about the story and the cast," she said, concluding the interview.
