Dede Sunandar Switches Careers to Become a Restaurant Server: Savings Keep Decreasing

Kapanlagi.com - Dede Sunandar, a comedian known through various television shows, is now trying his luck in the culinary world. When met in the Pantai Indah Kapuk (PIK) area, he shared stories about his new venture that has become the spotlight.

"Yes, that's right, actually also managing the media part, like the events. There was an event during Christmas and New Year, it's called nataru," said Dede Sunandar to start the conversation.

Dede explained that he is currently employed at a cafe in the PIK 2 area. Interestingly, the cafe is preparing for a massive expansion, and Dede has been entrusted to manage various aspects of entertainment to operations.

"I was hired at a cafe in PIK 2, and coincidentally, there will be many branches opening. I am trusted to handle entertainment as well as assist waitresses, baristas, and cooks here," he continued.

Dede's previous experience in the restaurant world is one of the reasons he ventured into this field. He feels he can still rely on the skills he learned in the past.

"Because I used to have a background in Japanese restaurants, so I also took part," he added.

1. Not Called by TV

Regarding the news that he is no longer active in the television world, Dede denied that he has truly left it. He stated that currently he just hasn't received any suitable offers.

"Actually, it's not that there are no opportunities on TV, I just haven't been called," he explained.

In response to rumors suggesting he has switched careers due to bankruptcy, Dede admitted that his financial situation forced him to seek alternative work. Although his savings are not depleted, he is aware that expenses continue to accumulate.

"Yes, if that's the situation, it has to be. I mean, there are no opportunities on TV anymore. My savings are not gone, but they will continue to decrease," Dede honestly stated.

2. Dividing Focus

For him, any job that can be done is something to be grateful for. He does not mind having to divide his focus between the entertainment world and his new job at the cafe.

"Yes, whether we like it or not, whatever we can work on, we will do it that way. The main thing is to keep going," he added.

Even though he has now shifted to the culinary world, Dede does not rule out the possibility of returning to television if any offers come in.

"It is indeed a career shift. If there is a TV offer again, I would go back, both can happen, like that. So this is not abandoned, that is not abandoned," concluded Dede.
