Denise Chariesta Exposes the Actions of a Former Employee, Accusations of Stealing Pajamas to Deceiving Customers

This legal step was taken by Denise after her suspicions about the former employee grew stronger. She felt there were irregularities in her business's financial reports, where the stock of pajamas that were out of stock did not match the amount of money that entered her business account. Not only that, the former employee is suspected of secretly selling products by directly contacting customers.   "I want to file a report. (Report) The former employee who stole my pajamas," said Denise Chariesta at the South Jakarta Metro Police.  

Denise's suspicion grew stronger after discovering that her former employee was using a personal number to contact customers. In that communication, the suspect requested payments to be transferred to his personal account, not to the store's official account. This certainly increased Denise's business losses without her knowledge.

"I was suspicious that my pajamas were selling but the money wasn't there. He was doing business with it. So he contacted all my customers on WhatsApp and asked them to transfer to his account," she added.

Although she is confident in her suspicion of theft, Denise admits she still does not know exactly how much loss she has suffered. She still needs to check the account mutations and sales reports to clarify the losses. This verification process will be an important part of her report to the police.

"I can't say for sure yet, it needs to be checked again. Check the mutation of the bank statement. Just pray that they get caught soon. My pajamas are gone but I’m not getting richer," said Denise.

Not just one person, Denise also suspects that there are more than one individual involved in the harmful practices. She hinted that the perpetrators are women and it is possible that there are other parties who assisted in the actions. However, for now, she chooses to focus on making an official report so that the investigation can begin.   "All girls. Yeah, we can't just guess, that's why I want to make a report first," she added.

Denise's arrival at the police station was done without the accompaniment of legal counsel or relatives. She admitted that she is used to going through all processes independently, including in legal matters like this. This independent attitude is not new for Denise, who is known to be vocal and straightforward in addressing various issues that befall her.   "No, I’m always alone, you know that," concluded Denise Chariesta.

The report submitted by Denise will be the initial step for investigators to trace the alleged theft and fraud occurring in her business. If proven, the reported former employee could be charged under criminal laws related to theft and fraud as regulated in the Criminal Code. The police are also expected to follow up on this report promptly, considering the material losses that have already occurred.
