Desta Remembers the Struggles of His Late Father, Reveals a Touching Story Behind His Love for Warkop

Desta recounts that watching Warkop films on the first day of screening is a must-do tradition in his family. He and his family always make time to go to the cinema to watch the latest work from the legendary comedy trio.

"I've been a fan of Warkop since I was very young. Every time a Warkop film is released, on the first day I would definitely go with my family to Bioskop Linggarjati back then, we always watch it," reminisces Desta.

Desta shares a memory that he will never forget. He vividly recalls how his father had to jostle in the crowded ticket line, with his bandaged hand sticking out among the crowd.

"My dad’s hand was visible above like this because he had Tensoplast at that time, I remember that incident very well," he said.

"Honestly, I personally have never wanted to act in films again, actually, personally. Because I don't know, it seems like it's enough for me. But if the offer is to play as a legend that I have idolized since childhood, that is an honor. It’s an honor, you know, such an honor," he said.

"Who can say no to that? Especially Uncle Indro, who at that time directly, his son whom I have liked since long ago, I mean liked because I admired him, respected him," concluded Desta.
