Dewa 19 Attempts to Bring Queen's Guitarist Brian May to 'All Stars Stadium Tour 2023' Concert

Kapanlagi.com - Dewa 19 will hold a concert tour entitled "All Stars Stadium Tour 2023". Starting at Manahan Stadium Solo on July 29, 2023. Next, Dewa 19 will continue this tour to Gelora Bung Karno (SUGBK) Senayan on August 12, 2023.

The plan is for this concert tour to continue to Surabaya and Bandung. However, Redline Kreasindo and Otello Asia as promoters have not announced the date and location yet.

The "All Stars Stadium Tour 2023" concert is guaranteed to be very different from Dewa19's previous concerts. This is because Dewa 19 will collaborate with several top international musicians.

They are Derek Sherinian (former Dream Theater keyboardist), Dino Jelusick (vocalist of Trans-Siberian Orchestra), Jeff Scott Soto (vocalist of Sons of Apollo), Phil X (former guitarist of Bon Jovi), and Ron Bumblefoot Thal (guitarist of Sons of Apollo).

1. Want to Collaborate with Brian May

Not only that, the band consisting of Ahmad Dhani, Andra Ramadhan, Yuke, and Agung Gimbal is also currently striving to bring Brian May, the guitarist of Queen, into the Dewa 19 featuring All Stars Stadium Tour 2023 concert.

Sysana Ibrahim, CEO of Otello Asia who acts as a promoter with Redline Kreasindo, stated that Brian May is the main target because Dewa 19 will perform the song "Bohemian Rhapsody" in the concert.

"We're currently lobbying Brian May, please pray for us. We're giving you a sneak peek. It's just a matter of prayers," said Sysana in a press conference at Plaza Senayan, South Jakarta, on Tuesday (23/5/2023).

Sysana said that they have negotiated to bring Brian May to Indonesia. However, one of the main obstacles they face is Brian May's health factor, as he is already 75 years old.

"That's why. That's the (health factor) that we're currently discussing," said Sysana.

2. Targeting Joe Satriani

In addition to Brian May, other big names that the promoter is targeting to appear in the "Dewa 19 featuring All Stars Stadium Tour 2023" concert are guitarists Joe Satriani and Nuno Bettencourt.

"We've invited other legends but some of them are currently injured, we don't need to mention their names. Joe Satriani is injured, and Nuno Bettencourt is also unable to walk far due to his injury," said Sysana.

Currently, the promoter can only wait for confirmation from the three names above to attend. If they are all unable to attend, the promoter will look for new names to liven up the event.

"We're still deciding on who else to invite, but we're still waiting for the veterans to respond. If they can't make it, we'll move on to others. We're still trying until the end," she concluded.
