Dimas Anggara Talks About the Challenges of Being a Zombie in 'Abadi Nan Jaya': Very Tiring

Kapanlagi.com - Actor Dimas Anggara admitted that he is done playing in zombie-themed films after being involved in his latest project titled Abadi Nan Jaya. The husband of Nadine Chandrawinata revealed that the experience of shooting the film was very draining, especially due to the extraordinary physical demands.

1. Dimas Anggara's Initial Enthusiasm

He felt enthusiastic because this film was directed by Kimo Stamboel, a figure known for his horror and action films with strong visual execution.

However, that initial enthusiasm changed as the shooting process progressed. Dimas admitted he was traumatized after experiencing firsthand the difficulty of portraying a zombie, which demanded high stamina and extra concentration.

"After it was over, I repented. It was really hard. Not easy," he said.

2. Physically Draining Challenges

Dimas explained that the biggest challenge was not just in acting, but from the physical aspect which was truly exhausting."So it was more physically demanding, much more tiring. Really tiring," he continued.

3. Special Training for Zombie Choreography

During the production process, he had to undergo choreography training to embody the zombie movements realistically and not excessively. Additionally, Dimas also had to go through a make-up process that took hours. This process was done every day before shooting started, to present a convincing zombie look on screen.

"That's what makes it extra tiring. Not to mention if it's hot or humid on location," he added.

Nevertheless, Dimas still appreciates Netflix Indonesia for providing a long preparation time before shooting began. According to him, this greatly helps the cast and crew in understanding the characters and the film's situation in depth.

Abadi Nan Jaya itself is the latest work from director Kimo Stamboel. This film tells the story of a family terrorized by zombies due to a youth tonic, a unique premise that combines Indonesian local elements with the modern horror genre.
