Kapanlagi.com - Artist Dimas Seto mourns the passing of his father, Syafrudin bin Rahmat Latif, who passed away on Saturday (21/5) due to several illnesses he had been suffering from lately. Dimas Seto recounted the chronology of his loved one's departure.

"Actually, he had been suffering for a long time," said Dimas Seto after the funeral at Tanah Kusir Cemetery, Jakarta, on Sunday (22/5).

Dimas Seto said that his father's condition had worsened about eight months ago when he was struck by dengue fever.

"At that time, Delta was at its highest, and because he was already comorbid, after DBD, he did not return to his original physical condition, his decline was drastic," he said.

1. Had a Stroke

The 42-year-old man added that before he passed away, his father had a stroke and suffered from a heart function disorder, and was immediately taken to the hospital.

"He had a heart history, and on Monday, he had a stroke," he explained.

After receiving intensive treatment at the hospital, the man who was very dear to Dimas Seto finally breathed his last on May 21, 2022.

"The process took one hour. Subhanallah, his passing was made easy. Honestly, it was the first time I had ever let go of someone from a critical condition until they passed away, and it was my own father. We only saw one breath, and then it was over," he concluded.

2. Guide My Father

Dimas Seto himself is grateful to be able to guide his father in reading the declaration of faith, and his father followed along with just one breath until he finally took his last breath.

"When my father had a stroke, his motor skills were affected and he had difficulty speaking. But what made me sad was when they inserted a tube into his nose to feed him, it was so painful all the way down to his stomach," he said.

"When we were reciting Lailaha Ilallah, I noticed that he could say that phrase fluently but not the others. My father remained calm throughout, and two days before he passed away, he said 'Let's all gather together for Friday morning prayer,'" added Dimas Seto.

3. Already Accepting

Although initially sad to lose a loved one, Dimas Seto and his family have already accepted it.

"It's like we're sad but happy at the same time when we let him go. As Muslim children, it is our duty to guide him in reciting Lailaha Ilallah. We told him that we accept it and that we will all meet again in the future, God willing," he concluded.
