Divorced from Teuku Ryan, Ria Ricis Not Allowed to Remarry Before the Iddah Period is Over

Kapanlagi.com - Public Relations of the South Jakarta Religious Court, Taslimah, explained the iddah period of Ria Ricis after officially divorcing from Teuku Ryan on Thursday (2/5/2024).

According to her, the iddah period lasts for 3 months and 10 days after Ricis and Ryan's divorce decision is declared final and legally binding.

Meaning, during that period, Ria Ricis is not allowed to marry anyone.

"If, for example, within 14 days the decision is counted as the end of the inkrah or non-appeal period," said Taslimah in her office, Friday (3/5/2024).

"Then, from both parties, no legal efforts are made, from the inkrah until 3 months and 10 days ahead. After that, the plaintiff can remarry," she added.

1. Teuku Ryan Can Appeal

However, the waiting period will be extended if there is an appeal from either party. But it is not yet known whether Teuku Ryan will appeal or not.

"If there is a party that files an appeal, wait for the decision of the appeal. For this case, the plaintiff only filed for divorce, child custody, and child maintenance and only those were granted," said Taslimah.

2. Divorce Verdict of Ria Ricis and Teuku Ryan

In the verdict, the Panel of Judges granted Ria Ricis' divorce petition. In addition, the Panel of Judges also granted the demand for custody of the child to be given to Ria Ricis. However, Ria Ricis still allows Teuku Ryan to meet their child, Moana.

"The child of the plaintiff and the defendant is under the care and custody of the plaintiff. With the provision that the defendant is not allowed to hinder the expression of love towards the child and punish the defendant to pay for the child's expenses until they reach adulthood and independence," she said.

Then in the verdict, Teuku Ryan is obliged to provide child support until they reach adulthood and independence, amounting to Rp. 10 million per month. "Yes, there is a specific amount, which is 10 million per month," Taslimah concluded.
